While i believe the death penality has its benifits its my believe that we as a country is not in a position to utilize such tool anytime soon as our crime fighting method is woefully inadequate, all of us would like to know that after such a decision is made to send someone to that chamber ,both law enforcers and the general public should be able to put their head on that pillow and sleep well knowing that decision was the right one, its sad our investigative body at this time cannot convince most of us that this concern aint valid.
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments EXACTLY
DeleteThe death penalty is gone nowhere and it is my belief that not hanging people since 1988 and reinforced by the Pratt and Morgan ruling in 1993 then over 200 murderers got their sentences commuted Jamaica has become a world class "Criminals Paradise".Be reminded that the PM ruling is about the time we took to carry out the execution more than 5 years that is what was classified cruel and inhumane not the hanging. We could get on with it tomorrow morning and I and many others would volunteer.Guilty murderers should be executed quickly after conviction.Appeals should be given a time limit lawyers should have to work within that, after which is execution time forthwith.
DeleteFirst, killing is killing! We have no right to take someone's life!!! Secondly who is on death row in Jamaica, the ones who cannot afford the expensive star lawyer!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo. I don't believe in the death penalty. They go low, then we must go high. I know when we do evil deeds we must be lawfully judged but when it comes to death, we should leave that to God.
