Unconfirmed Report - Police in Savanna La Mar Killed at his Bar by Gunmen

I just got a message that a member of the police force has been killed a short while ago. Report from one of my On The Ground reporters is that this constable was stationed at the Little London Police Station..

I understand that the police was shot by gunmen at his bar in Chantilly in Savanna La Mar, which is in the parish of Westmoreland. A call was made to a police station in the area and the response from the person on the line was that the police is unable to confirm that the incident took place.

Note: I am encouraging the Jamaica Constabulary Force to ensure that information about crime is released to the public in a timely manner or else social media will replace official information. This can result in inaccurate information being fed to the public via non-police sources. It is amazing that this information is all over social media and in the traditional media, yet police officers in the area seem to be unaware of the incident. This is very strange!

Update 2350 EST:

I have received further information from a police source, which states that Chantilly Westmoreland Transporter Bar and Rest Stop operator, Police Constable Richard Barrett has been killed.  The source further stated that the constable was stationed at the Little London Police Station.

Oh so sad. The thing about it there is no outrage when the police is killed. Can't understand

The murder of any citizen is outrageous and must be condemned. Equally outrageous is the unwillingness of the authorities to implement comprehensive and fundamental changes to bring law and order to our increasingly lawless society. The "bleeding heart" approach to crime, violence and disorder must be abandoned.

Very sad. We are a very uncivilized society and these criminals cannot continue to be protected by human rights rules when they follow none.

Crime will not stop unless the Police Service is removed from Direct Politician Control & Directive. Both JLPNP have One Order & Klansman Gangs under their influence & guidance. Now the Police are focusing on Klansman because it's JLP time now. That's how it is in Jam Down...
