Thunderstorms Predicted - What Not to Do!

Things not to do when you have a thunderstorm:

  • Do not drive where the road is covered with water. You never know, where there is a breakaway.
  • Do not shelter under trees.
  • Do not take a bath, wash dishes nor do anything which puts you in contact with water.
  • Plug out your electrical appliances. This is not a time to use nor to touch electrical equipment.
  • Do not go in a pool of water.
  • Stay indoors.
  • Do not use a phone which is attached to a cord..
  • Stay away from metal objects such as the grills for your house.
  • If it is a bad thunderstorm then you should  consider turning off your electrical breakers for your home..
  • Not a good time to be walking around outside with an umbrella over your head.

  6. Excellent attempt to inform but be reminded that without functional literacy, critical thinking and the requisite geographical knowlege I am asking.
Which parishes are South Central,North Eastern,Eastern etc.Western easye know Westmoreland and cousin Hanover and St James.Ok if you Nuh believe me tell me weh Trelawny deh,St Elizabeth,Manchester.Well if West a Wesmolan then Eastern must be the other end Portland and St Thomas.Oh,mass Vernon I get it if thunderstorm deh a East ,West and Middle wah Dem Nuh just say
"Everybody in Jamaica expect thunder, nuff rain, lightning and flood, lock off electricity, light.Dont stand up under trees .Okay simple tan in a unnu yaad inside a you house and move from yuh doorway and window when lightning a flash".
When giving mass information Forget setting PEP and CXC exams for the nation is a reality.Remember Jamaica has a 88% literacy rate ,men at 83% and women at 93%.Functional literacy and critical thinking is perhaps 20%.Ask Prof Carolyn Cooper Fi make it clearer and for greater authenticity. In short m my understanding is that *rain, lightning, thunder and breeze is going to be everywhere and also watch out for flooding in flood prone areas".
How mi sound Maas Vernon is my interpretation High on the river or Low River understanding or is it Gorging impassable.
