Introducing Chapters: A New-Generation Book Club for Millennials and GenZs

Press Release From Chapters

Kingston, Jamaica - On Sunday, November 19, 2023, Jameika Johnson's Book Club, Chapters, launched with great success at the AC Marriot Hotel. The event garnered a remarkable turnout and received support from renowned national authors such as Jahvoughn Francis and Dannice Greaves.

During her Main Address, Founder and CEO Jameika Johnson says her vision is for Chapters to revitalize reading among youth, especially during the digital age and their decreasing attention spans. Ms. Johnson says by providing a platform for writers and creatives to showcase their skills and connect with like-minded individuals, Chapters serves as a hub for literary enthusiasts.

The heart of Chapters lies in its monthly meetings, where participants will delve into the selected book or collection and engage in captivating discussions. This unique approach aims to reignite the joy of reading and foster a sense of community among members.

In addition to its focus on the younger generation, Chapters is committed to addressing adult illiteracy. Through its work in this area, the organization will offer continuous tutoring sessions to empower adults with literacy skills.

Ms. Johnson expressed her excitement at launching this initiative, stating "We believe that reading has the power to transform lives and build bridges between individuals. With Chapters, we aim to create a vibrant community of readers and writers who can inspire and support each other."

Chapters eagerly anticipate this impactful and strategic approach to addressing national issues of illiteracy. We look forward to a future characterized by heightened educational structures and a passion for literature that will drive progress and growth across our great nation.
