Press Release From the NWC

The National Water Commission is advising that regretably it is forced to suspend water supply in sections of Jacks Hill and its environs, due to the development of several major leaks on the 16-inch cross-country transmission pipeline.

The team is mobilizing to undertake the repair works and is estimating to complete by 5pm, tomorrow Monday, December 4, 2023.   

Affected customers are encouraged to make request for trucked water by contacting the NWC Contact Centre at 888-225-5692 or emailat customercare@nwc.com.jm.   

Areas impacted:  

Norbrook, Cherry Gardens, Russell Heights, sections of Barbican, Jacks Hill, Millsborough and areas off Constant Spring Road and other areas including Charlton Avenue, Whitford Drive, Temple Meade, Pinkneys Green, Kinsale Avenue, Cookhamdeene, Braywick Avenue, Bracknell Avenue, Hyperion Avenue, Farrington Drive, Farringdon Heights, Ridgeway, Ridgeway Terrace, Roedeen Close, Riva Ridge, Shortridge Dr

  2. NWC appears to have a haphazard approach to it's sewerage expansion projects as well as general maintenance based on the frequent and prolonged disruptions that seem to be associated with its projects with little regard for commuters and householders/businesses affected.

    Furthermore, when their various holes are eventually rectified, they leave rubble from the road piled up on the sidewalks.
