I just received information from a reliable source stating that the KSAMC's Swearing-in Ceremony which was scheduled for March 7, 2024, has been postponed.
Both the JLP and the PNP are seeking magisterial recounts for divisions falling under the KSAMC. The JLP is contending that one PD was moved far away from some voters at the last minute and this resulted in voters being deprived of the opportunity to vote.
It is also contended that the margins which the candidate won by, could change when a magisterial recount is done.
This means at this point one is not sure which party will have control over the KSAMC or whether we will still end up with both parties winning an equal number of divisions. One thing is certain is that the former Mayor, Winston Ennis will neither be Mayor nor Deputy Mayor of the KSAMC.
Persons outside the JLP party circles are claiming that the Party Leader was the one supporting former Mayor Delroy Williams to be appointed as Deputy Mayor. This is a result of both parties being locked in a tie and the PNP getting the majority of the votes in the KSAMC Municipality would select the Mayor. The information that I have is that it is the councillors who supported the appointment of Delroy Williams as Deputy Mayor. The councillors need to consider if it is a wise decision to have Delroy William in that position, considering that he was not a popular mayor.
Interesting days are ahead - stay tuned. You can depend on this blog to get the information that matters to you, first.

DeleteDelray Williams did nothing for Kingston and St. Andrew. Downtown is like a big Pit Toilet and the roundabout in Harbour view where vendors sell cooked food is like a big dutty tenement yard. Williams must not hold no post in the party. Him is a big disgrace.
