New Mayor for Clarendon.

I have been reliably informed that the new Mayor of May Pen will be Joel Williams. 

I have been informed also that former Mayor Maragh has gracefully accepted the change. He is not one known to fight bitterly for power.

I understand that the former Deputy Mayor played a card that senior members of the party had to ensure that he be appointed as the next Deputy Mayor.

Joel Williams was the person expected to replace Mike Henry but that has met with some resistance from some quarters.

The JLP will have to handle these changes tactfully or else negative comments made by party members can be perceived as the party being divided. Emotions are running high all around because the date for the next  general elections is just around the corner.
