Emancipation Park Potholed Obstacle Course ????

The running track at Emancipation Park in Kingston is like a hazardous rural macadamized road in parts. My friends, other people and I,  "buck wi toe stumble and drop a grung".

They had replaced the continuous track like what you have at the stadium with rubber block-like tiles approximately 3 inches thick.

These blocks are always lifting out of place sometimes taking months as areas are being barred off to users. One such area I now notice about 50 meters is replaced by the continuous stadium-like.

The impression of a running track with potholes all over must end. The remedy going forward has to be going back to the original running track approach like you have at Jamaica College, Stadium or elsewhere.

A running, walking and jogging track with potholes no way.

Another recommendation would be to eliminate all steps and step-ups.

Make the Emancipation Park friendly and free to wheelchair-bound or otherwise physically impaired/blind users.

We need one-way directives. The directive should advise persons to keep to the left allowing free passage/overtaking by faster walkers/joggers/runners. The track could also be widened by even 2 or 3 feet.

Emancipation Park is a great idea that should be replicated in every Parish capital.

Sellers taking over the park!

Interesting Signs

Your safety has nothing to do with the condition of the tracks?

The track should last for many years?

Why charge the wedding photographers and not the vendors?

The sign should say, 'Hope yu neva bruck yu foot pan di track!'

This place should be closed for renovation.

It is not looking beautiful these days!
