Jamaicans For Justice and That Kissing Girls Press Release

Jamaica for Justice (JFJ) sent out a release this week condemning how the Principal of St. James High, Joseph Williams dealt with the incident of the two kissing girls.

My first question to JFJ is, "Has anyone from Jamaica For Justice spoken to the school administration?" My information is that the JFJ did not. Did the parents make a report to JFJ?

JFJ states, "If what is stated in the media is true..." If you are not sure the report is true, why have you started to denounce the principal?

JFJ needs to ask, did the girls' parents make a complaint to the Board before contacting the various media houses?

Based on what the girls were alleged to have done, there is no way they could have remained in that student community whether they had the right to or not - law or no law. There is this tendency to jump on the populist route and talk about children's rights while at the same time undermining the authority of our schools.

We might argue that people have a right to decide their sexual preference, but a school is a place of learning, not a place for boys to seek to have intimate relationships with girls or vice versa. It is not a place also for girls to have an intimate relationship with other girls nor for the boys to do so with other boys.

The JFJ raises some interesting points in that interesting release. The release talks about sexual education without any moral judgment. Is JFJ only concerned about the law and not moral judgment?

How can the JFJ denounce how the matter was handled when the matter has not been investigated by anybody? What is natural justice for the JFJ when you have condemned the school administration?

The JFJ should apologize to the students and the administration of St. James High. I wonder if Mikel Jackson was speaking for herself? Is the press release a reflection of the directors' opinion.

I fully support the JFJ position

Once is anything to promote the LGBTQ you can bet your last dollar JFJ will jump to support. Make no mistake about it the JFJ is more about their secret agenda than JUSTICE.

I totally agree with you. The JFJ in my opinion chooses to support whatever will make them popular, wrong or right. When their voice is needed it is not heard.

I also agree with Vernon that school is for education not for displaying intimacies of any kind.

We are living in very sad times, Lord help us

Matters of this nature should always be handled with the greatest delicacy and privacy, rather than washed out in the court of public opinion

I am in no way speaking for or against sexual preference because I don’t have information about sexual preferences of the girls. My question is, if a boy was seen kissing a girl, would they be suspended. What the children were doing was wrong, how does expelling them correct the wrong? Shouldn’t they be referred to get appropriate help? Those children who are now denied an education will be a thorn to society later and we will have to contend with them whether we like it or not. We are always reaching for the low hanging fruits, we just can’t see the bigger picture.
