Towering Historic Cave Valley Chimney Crumbles

I received the following message from a Bark Di Trute supporter about the Cave Valley Chimney in St. Ann, Jamaica.

Vernon good morning.

The Towering Cave Valley Estate Chimney has crumbled a few days back.

Was watching your blog but haven't seen anything yet.

That chimney had great history.

The Cave Valley Chimney.

    1. This would be St Ann close to the Clarendon border.
I usually drive across from Browns Town via Alexandria through Cave Valley then via another town with a Clock then on to WIlliamsfield in Manchester.
Driving that route I know you cover three parishes and it can be confusing at times which parish you are in.
You might not pay much attention as to which parish as long as you are on the high roads safely driving ,riding, jogging or walking with care.
Now with the advent of numerous highways people will have to make an effort to know their country as domestic tourism sight seeing and discovery tours could be a rising area of interest and investment.
"Know Jamaica Tours" Mass Vernon I give you the patent rights to (KJT) or how about Maas Vernon Jam Tours(MVJT).
BLOG it ON THE ROADS IN EVERY "NOOK AND CRANNY TOURS" (NCT).
Take Nine Miles in St Ann,Bob's birthplace and where his mother Cedella was born.
That area gets at least 2000 visitors per day.
Almost everyone in Nine Miles and Bob are family.
I f you want to see what real Community Tourism is all about go to Nine Miles .
It's like what Negril was back in the 70s and early 80s best defined as Cool Runnings and Everything Irie One LOVE.No
      Crime.
You can go smoke the herb that Bob Marley smoked in the bush yuh safe people all participate in this highly democratized Community Tourism with no Govament ir Government intervention.I mean even the littlest or oldest pickney is part of that community tourism subculture.
I recall one immigration Police at an American port of entry told me I quote .
"I have been through the jungles of Jamaica to visit Bob Marley birthplace".
I was taken aback "Jungles of Jamaica".
There is a tour route going through a Jamaica poultry Breeders property where they have climbers pick coconuts for them to drink. Then up through Claremont by the Clock via some uninhabited lands to Stephanie where the children at the Primary School sing Jamaica songs for Tourists.
Then on to Bob Marleys Mecca his birthplace and where his remains are entered.
When you go there it's like Bob Marly Lives and is alive and well.
You meet real.people who knew him and no fake.
A museum should be there in Nine Miles.
I haven't seen the biopic yet but is there anything substantial on Nine Miles in there as I hear nuff talk bout Trench Town him P ass through dehso but a Nibe Mike's, St Ann him born and Grow.
By the way I met a Bob Marley sister born and grow in Jamaica she operated a bar beside Tony shoemaker shop on Church Street in Kingston just below JaTeachers Credit Union on Church Street in Kingston.
Last time I checked she passed away ,she was a whitish/Caucasian looking woman.
Surprisingly even though this needs verification from the registrar and DNA I do not believe this personally feisty and proud woman was lied.

    2. The town with the click would be Spalding! It spans both the parishes of Clarendon and Manchester, but is recognized as being in Clarendon, because the Post office is in Clarendon, but the hospital is in Manchester.

She could be best described as a proud whitish/Caucasian looking woman.

Even though there needs to be verification from the Registrar General and DNA testing.
I do not believe this short, feisty and proud woman was misinforming the public.

  4. Nine Miles is a tourist mecca! I was there one day when a bus load of tourists came and it eas amazing to see the look of awe and reverence on their faces! Some had tears in their eyes. My only disappointment was the tatty, bleached-out rasta flag, sugar for my tea served in a chiffon margarine container and the broken louvre glass pane in the female bathroom.
I'm sure those things have change for the better over the years
