The Thompson Family in Norman Gardens a Dying Breed!

If you live long enough and you don't go before your friends you will watch them go and say that final goodbye. It is all a part of life. This time it was Keith Wiley Thompson. Norman Gardens like Habour View are two places in Kingston where I found some loving caring persons when I came to Kingston, and today I said a final bye to a loving Jamaican. The family of B.K. and Hazel Thompson is a dying breed. A home where children were brought up and not dragged up. Can you imagine a family of four grown-up boys? The community of Norman Gardens can be proud of them.

As the nation looks at its challenges we need to move the spotlight away from the macro-economics, the major plans for economic development, our new sprawling highways across the country and take a look at our families. Something is very wrong there. We have some madern children who are not afraid to take the lives of other children and also to take violence against their teachers. Parents are no longer in control. If we continue like this and believe we can build a great country then we are in for a rude awakening. 

We do not have to wait until we die before going to hell because our beautiful little country is fast becoming a little hell on earth. The solutions cannot lie in the hands of a few politicians, but a whole united nation, with the belief that we cannot continue like this. We must understand that good families make good communities, good communities will make great countries.
