Jamaica continues to face the problem of dishonest persons and those who lack integrity. Often times for political purposes we tend to target politicians and we say they are corrupt. Corruption is in every nook and cranny of this country. This is not just a political problem, it is a people problem. We should not rely on politicians' leadership alone but on leadership from the business sector, the church, the news media, NGOs and others working to deal with this scourge decisively.
For years we have heard about those in the furniture manufacturing, the construction industry, developers, car dealers, job placement organizers, financial institutions and others which consumers have claimed have taken them for a joy ride.
The used car business and the job placement business are two sectors that need to be investigated. Anyone who carries out any illegal act to defraud consumers should have their assets seized and a life sentence in prison.
There is more to this case of this businessman and this police officer being killed at the police station in Half Way in Kingston. Jamaicans will say, "Something into something". It is a pity that it has cost a policeman's life.
Remember this, corruption is the bait for big crimes. If you have been taken for a joy ride by any businessman, act now and save the rest of us.
We live and we learn! Tonight the force has lost another son - a family without a husband and a father. This policeman will have a funeral and grand speeches will be made. His body will be buried and so will the circumstances surrounding his death in Jamaica Land We Love?

I have experienced this dishonesty with a cabinet maker and regular laborer. They are truly thieves. Collect monies for a job. Don't deliver and sometimes deliver poor quality. Bait and switch.
ReplyDeleteIt's like a disease eating away at our society.

ReplyDeleteSelfishness, greed, corruption, and political tribalism are stagnating Jamaica Land we love
ReplyDeleteHonestly; sometimes why they even get the Job in the first place is because we would have known there parents or some family reletive for them. Only to find out that they are very dishonest in their line of work. However ; our country needs a proper cleaning up from the top to bottom right here in Jamaica.
