I would like one of our historians to look at this video and tell me more about this bandana material, which many have adopted as our unofficial so-called costume.
In the colonial days, cotton was taken from India to Britain and processed into the bandana material. The whole idea was to process the material, add value to it in Britain, and sell it back to the Indians at a high markup value.
Should we eliminate this bandana since we intend to remove the King as our Head of State? We don't want to say, "Long live the King in the form of the Bandana", after we have removed the King as Head of State. Is this bandana thing a British thing? Why did Mahatma Gandhi refuse to wear it?
Let's create an outfit that reflects our motto, 'Out of Many, One People'.
On another matter - wi have the copyright to the design of Jamaican flag and also the music for our National Anthem?
I wonder if I still have my Chinese Jamaican flag from last year - di black, green and yellow flag? Time to celebrate - Independence celebrations just round di corner!

My Nigerian friend got excited when she saw the bandana. She said "these are really my people!" I was so surprised.
After Vybz Cartel ruling...who seh dem a go dash weh di king? You know how some a fi wi people fool fool...dem is going to hold on like sloopy.
The Jamaican bandana is slavery attire and reminds us of our days as slaves. It doesn't directly link us to British culture.
Jamaica cannot remove the King as head of state. They can pretend to. The legal matters are not easily resolved. Who said the Monarch owns us? They are the Head of State.
On another note: Should the motto be changed? It coincides with that of the Tower of Babel.
Frankly I would first like to ensure that our national colours are respected. The Office of the Prime Minister is the guardian of the national symbols and it allows any body/country to just spit out Jamaican flags of any colour for commercial gain. Our flag is disrepected without any intervention from OPM. The colours of the flag are Black Green and GOLD. But even official representatives parade Black Green and Yellow flags. Just another example of how de Govt couldnt care less or perhaps dem jus cayliss.
