Social media is blazing hot with confusing news about police officers who visited the area close to Prime Minister Andrew Holness' residence this evening.
News widely circulated on social media gave the impression that the police were in the area investigating matters relating to the Prime Minister's Integrity Commission Report.

The political climate is heating up. Effective and timely communication is important. A damaging rumour can result in challenges for the state. Imagine if the rumour stated that the police were at the PM's house to overthrow the government. The effect of this rumour could be very damaging.
Let me use this opportunity to remind the police that although they use social media to disseminate information, it is important to get information to all media persons immediately and there is a system in place to facilitate that.
Jamaicans should follow the news from traditional media houses and also trusted bloggers to keep abreast of what is happening during these interesting times.
