Residents Blocking Washington Boulevard

Washington Boulevard is being blocked.

Blocking of roads has become a national past-time these days. The video below shows residents blocking Washington Boulevard in Kingston, Jamaica today. I received this report from a motorist a short while ago.

The police need to check on this now because this could create a major traffic problem this afternoon.

Blocking roads is counter productive. The people who needs help feel the blunt of blocking roads. Block the gate of the MP or the PM etc

Block the MP or PM gate is also counter productive..sometimes I wonder how we Jamaicans think as if is the MP or PM went to Victoria Jubilee to have these spoiled kids who have nothing to do but cause distress on our beautiful Jamaica. And you are encouraging slackers for them to go elsewhere to block. Very distasteful.

Only way to get attention.Writing or calling authorities gets you nowhere. Govt not intetested in listening to little man or woman

Roadblock Democracy(RD) is deeply embedded in the psyche of the Jamaican people for decades.

National Heroes short of rebellion resorted to safer "Roadblock Democracy" that give them results.

Need, water, light, roads justice and you name it and the more sophisticated ,"civilized" methods don't work.
RD works everytime even to get national attention and action.

Go for RD.
That reminds me people in Chalky Hill St Ann,Malvern Park Housing Scheme are planning a RD to press for water they have not had for 3 months in their pipes.

Am wondering if our representatives really care about their people's that they represent. Most times they know exactly what is going on the ground and it seems like most of ear's are blocked up marl. So for them to get the message properly. The people have to demonstrate and block the roads. That is the quickest way to get results. Even thou it will cost the government a pretty penny sometimes. That is the best method that really works. Sad to say! It is only a few MP that really move with speed to avoid the backlash of their community. Why can't the others follow suit?
