Message From a Supporter - Mother Cannot Live on UWI Campus With Child
Dear Vernon, I wish to make an official plea for assistance in a gender related matter: I know of a PhD student at UWI, who is a single mother and cannot find accommodations at any of the UWI apartments or houses. There seems to be a rule that students with a child cannot rent there!?? How can this be allowed at a University who has a department for Gender Studies in the year of 2024??

In regards to the airport incident, I don't know about it being fake news, the passenger died at one of our international Airport.
The lack of emergency vehicles in Jamaica is a fact. My cousin died recently because she had to be transported to the hospital by a private vehicle in northern Clarendon.
And at the same time the powers that be, are demanding $20.000.00 USD for a foundation to donate a fully equipped ambulance to the country.
I am involved in making donations to the education sector and we are having to pay large amount in fees to make our donations to the sector.
And nothing is been done about these things. I have reached out to government agencies but no changes.
Insted of demanding these fees, why not encourage us to make more donations with the money that we are being charged.

If you're making donations to a school or hospital, they can get a waiver from the government of any fees or charges.
