Car Drivers Without Fitness Documents Due To Non-Functioning Equipment

I have received a report that persons were not able to collect their fitness documents at the Swallowfield Depot in Kingston today, even after their car fitness check was completed satisfactorily. This was due to the system not working. I was told that customers were not advised of the problem before.

What will happen to motorist if police officers checked them for the fitness document and they cannot show it? Would the officer be able to check on his smart phone to ascertain if the vehicle has been tested and passed for being fit?

We need an announcement from the Minister of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, Daryl Vaz about the situation at the Swallowfield Depot in Kingston. The JCF should advise the public how this matter of drivers not having their fitness documents, will be dealt with.
