Ms Simone Pratt a Teacher at Belmont Academy in Westmoreland Has Died

Simone Pratt

Ms Simone Pratt a math teacher at the Belmont Academy in Bluefields, Westmoreland, suddenly became ill and was admitted to the hospital. She died shortly after being admitted.

The following is a tribute to Simone Pratt from Keith Wedderburn JP:

As the Manager of Western Express Transportation Services, it is with a heavy heart that I pay tribute to Ms. Simone Pratt, a remarkable teacher and a cherished member of our community.

I first had the honour of meeting her many years ago when we worked together at Mearnsville Primary School in Bluefields on school related community projects. From that moment, her passion for education, her kindness, and her commitment to the students she served were evident. Later, when she joined Belmont Academy (which started in 2009), our professional relationship flourished into one of deep respect and admiration.

Ms. Pratt was not just a teacher; she was an embodiment of our transportation service’s motto: " **Going Above and Beyond*" She exemplified this every day. Whether it was during school hours, late at night, on weekends, or even during holidays, she was always there—ready to offer her positive and insightful contributions to the Western Express WhatsApp groups. She stood tall among the school administrators, and what made her truly unique was her willingness to join and engage with the broader Western Express social group, where she interacted with all members, always providing encouragement and guidance.

Her dedication was not limited to her students. Ms. Pratt's service extended far beyond the classroom. She touched countless lives in the community, offering her time, her wisdom, and her unwavering support to those who needed it most.

Ms. Pratt will be remembered for her kindness, her tireless work ethic, and the profound impact she made on so many lives. Her legacy will live on through the students she taught and the people she inspired.

Rest in peace, Ms. Pratt. Your contributions will not be forgotten, and you will be deeply missed by all of us.

Keith R Wedderburn, JP.

Ms Pratt 2nd left, with colleagues.

I think the subject of Customer Service or rather Customer Dis-service has been mentioned time and again however it is my opinion that we, the customer, should lean in and insist on improved service(s).
We need to speak out, through the various media until our voices are heard or do our voices even matter, we need to find out. Let us advocate for ourselves until 'management' hears us.
Our money is a scarce commodity and we prefer to spend it with a business that appreciates our 'business' and our time.
Sagicor Bank, Dominica Drive, I spent 25 minutes in the line with about 5 persons ahead of me. There were 2 tellers on duty, when I finally got through the line was almost at the door, still 2 tellers!
Sagicor you can do better, we are demanding better!
Customers speak out, it's our dollar$ make the 'mare gallop'.
