Workers in The BPO Sector Bawling Out for HELP!

I have been receiving complaints about the working conditions in the Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) sector. Some workers say that there are no unions to represent them and their rights as workers are not being respected generally. Workers are sometimes forced to work when they are ill, and this puts other workers at risk. This is because their time off for sick leave is inadequate.

Click on the icon below to listen to some of the challenges that the workers face.

Who represents the workers in the BPO Sector?

Are BPO workers entitled to redundancy payments?

In an internal dispute, who represents the workers?

Government oversight of the sector.

Other challenges are being faced by workers in the sector.

Please share this blog with workers in the BPO sector and ask them to add their concerns as comments. This information will be sent to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

Thanks.

  1. We truly thank all the BPO companies for their wonderful insight and creative knowledge in bringing this wonderful industry to the beautiful Island 🏝️ of Jamaica. However; our government must start to put to put laws in place that protect their people and not law's to manipulate and shackled their own. It is so sad to hear how Jamaicans are being treated right in their own country. People are working even when they are sick 🤢 who on earth 🌎 have such power to give our people's such a Dumb law. I thought slavery was done with. I noticed even in our tourist industry. Most worker's can Not 🚫 take tip. Listen, if I was the government those types of foolishness, would have to stop 🛑 immediately. However; those who are hell bent in going into their colleagues work station to take what does not belong to them. You sent them home 🏡. They are nothing but a disgusting thief. On the matter of redundancy. Please am asking the ministry of security to step in and let hard working people get their money 💰. They deserve it. You do not know the hell that they have to go through to put billions of dollars in these managers Bank 🏦 vault. Thanks so much Sir Vernon. Keep up the great work 👏.
