I just got a report that there was a shooting at the JLP meeting in Central Kingston tonight. This has not been confirmed by the JLP nor the police. There were popping sounds at the meeting, and this disrupted the meeting for a short time.
The political parties must be careful not to blame each other for incidents like this. The gangs have an interest in creating chaos during this election campaign. People have said to me that the people who stoned the buses imported for the transport sector did so because they feel that the new buses will affect their extortion money. People are sayint that the gangs in the communities could be behind the stoning of the buses.
Lawrence Rowe, who was once a PNP political aspirant for Central Kingston, made some damaging political statements about the PNP and its leadership at the Central Kingston JLP meeting. We will hear more about that in the future.
