Injured student. |
This is an update on the matter of the youngster who was being bullied at Rock River All-Age School. The youngster has a large bump on the back of his head.
I contacted the principal, Mrs Walker. She was not aware of the matter. The matter has been reported to the nearby police station and the education minister.
Criminals start developing from home, and then they move on to high school, where they fine-tune their criminal skills. They leave high school qualified to become a full criminal. We need social workers to track these social misfits from an early stage so that remedial actions can be taken.
I am posting this here as information for all to see. This matter must be thoroughly investigated and action taken. This cannot be another 9-day wonder. We must start to deal with the young criminals in our schools.
Do we realize if we go by the definition "ANY BEHAVIOUR THAT ATTRACTS A FINE OR IMPRISONMENT IS A CRIME"
ReplyDeleteit is the duty of every citizen to examine their behaviour and arrest such behaviour.
Want a "crime free" society we the citizens must police
ourselves,friends,associates and families.
The 14000 police, 6000 military and 40,000 security guards cannot 100% police 3million people effectively.
WE HAVE TO POLICE OURSELVES AS THE FIRST LINE IF DEFENCE AGAINST CRIMINAL BEHAVIOUR SO,RESOCIALIZE OUR CHILDREN JAMAICA 🇯🇲 .
That is true but if you use the d international global sociological definition if a crime as "any behaviour that attracts a fine or imprisonment.
ReplyDeleteThe statement Most Jamaicans are criminals however cannot be refuted.
Start with parliament, churches, security forces and even our Private sector business groupings
It is true however that Jamaicans globally have excelled and contributed to the betterment of mankind locally and globally.
A nuh lie most a we a criminal males and females inclusive if our children.
ReplyDeleteThose BULLIES ARE CRIMINALS.
Bullying in schools in my opinion is not taken serious. Majority of the times the teachers and principals know what is happening and do nothing. They know these bullies. Who are even worse than the bullies are the other students who encourage them. Only when the person being bullied retaliates or worse take their life, then you see the powers that be pretend to care. Prevention better than cure, but as usual that does not seem to be our first thought in this country. Jamaica continues to be on a path of destruction. God help us.
ReplyDeleteDear Mr Derby.
ReplyDeleteI believe the indiscipline that is on our roads every second of every day breeds a level of lawlessness in our children. The rampant lawlessness becomes a significant part of our behaviour pattern as the millions of infringements go unpunished. Big man, small man and women alike, with their crass behaviour on our roads are setting a very poor example for our children to following, knowing that bad behaviour is more likely to go unpunished.
Loud speakers are installed in cars breaking the noise law day and night. Firecrackers are not allowed to be used by children, yet cars are modified to mimic the sound of gunshot creating mayhem causing people to think we live in the wild wild west. Headlights are modified to blind oncoming motorists which I am sure result in accidents and is against the law. Riding motorcycles without a helmet, breaking the speed limit, reckless overtaking, where there is an unbroken white line, overloading passenger vehicles, heavy goods trucks, send a message that the police is impotent and that Jamaica has no laws. Night noises, churches blasting their services to disturb the peace, littering, not wearing seatbelts; have we gone mad? Do the police only answer to crimes that require them to use their heavy weapons?
Do our children have any good examples to emulate?
