I received a report that there was a shooting on the Mandela Highway this afternoon and this impacted the smooth flow of traffic. Several persons have been complaining about the significant increase in traffic on our roads. I have also had complaints about blocked roads across the island. Readers, I can only appeal to the police to use the Emergency Alert System to broadcast to all media persons when there are challenges on the streets.
Informing the people would make a big difference. Drivers could avoid such areas, and drivers could delay their trip. We need to do all that is possible to ease the tension in the country.
