Accompong The New CARICOM Member and Member of the UN???

President/Chief Currie

The president/chief of Accompong, a country on the island of Jamaica, has declared that no military personnel from Jamaica will be allowed into the state of Accompong. Prime Minister Holness was going to send JDF soldiers into the area to assist residents with the rebuilding of their homes. The president of Accompong would have none of it, and the offer was publicly rejected.

It is feared that if the JDF soldiers entered Maroon territory, they could come under attack. The president of Accompong has not stated what action he would take if external forces entered his country. Then again, he should remember what Sista P said, "Mi no fraida no body." A similar sentiment was expressed by PM Holness. President Currie, should take sleep mark death.

Jamaicans are asking if Accompong is recognized by the international community as a sovereign state. Is it a member of CARICOM and the United Nations?

A few years ago, there was an announcement of the Accompong state having its own central bank, and the citizens would use the lunar currency. What happened to that plan? What happened to the funds in the central bank?

Currently, Jamaica maintains the schools in the area, provides electricity, builds and maintains roads in the area, provides passports for citizens to leave the island, and provides medical care for the people. The people are also represented by an MP in the House of Parliament, and also councillors who are elected in a system presided over by the Jamaican Electoral Commission.

Some people are wondering if the Maroons will be issued passports to enter Jamaica and if they will require visas to enter Jamaica. They had plans for a National ID for the maroons. Remember that it is a landlocked country. Maroons should apply for work permits to work in Jamaica. I wonder what President Currie thinks of that idea.

Sometimes I wonder if we are living in the real world. Somebady tun some a di maroons dem eena idiot. Tek my humble advice, my maroon friends. Dis is 2025 so step into the modern world. Maintain oonu rich culture and identity an hold oonu corner. Oonu want to be a country eento a country? Do you have arms and manpower to repel the JDF if they enter Accompong? That would be the Israel vs Hamas war in Jamaica

Over the years, some crazy people have turned the world upside down.  You will recall Adolf Hitler. Who is turning Accompong upside down?

Power and fame, when they get into your head, will have an effect similar to when you take drugs. You will be convinced that you get stoves in barrels and Starlink equipment, and then you wake up to find out that it was just your imagination.

What if we make Chief Currie the prime minister of Jamaica? Do you think he would want that job? Do you think he would send the JDF to help his people at Accompong? Tom drunk, but Tom no fool. Power can tun Tom eena fool though!

There seem to be diamonds in Accompong, and powerful people inside and outside of Jamaica want to get their hands on those diamonds. When they get their hands on those diamonds, there could be a coup, and President Currie could be no more

There is never a dull moment in Jamaica.

  1. TheTreaty with the British after the Maroon war led by Cudjoe apparently still stands.
Part of that Treaty was guaranteed Autonomy.
Catch and return runaway slaves for a bounty if 30 shillings.
In the event of an attack from outside they'd be willing fight alongside the British in Jamaica's defence.
It is not far fetched for the Maroons to request being a British Overseas Territory (BOT)which in hindsight Jamaica should have remained or requested that.
Real Independence has eluded Jamaica for too long .
It is not simply about song, dance, dress up, drunkenness and a Care packaged parasitic unproductive society.
Look at Bermuda or Cayman both BOTs are among the wealthiest countries on earth with per capita GDP in case of Bermuda appr US$140,000 and Cayman appr $40,000.
Emancipation or Independence has eluded the descendants of the 450,000 Jamaican slave population in 1834-1838 Emancipation.
They now make up 98% of the population but owning no more than 5% of the Jamaican economy.
Now some want to cement perpetual poverty with being a Republic having more squatting now appr half of the population 1.5 million.
A prolific crime industry endemic corruption supported by a dictatorship would make Haiti look like Sunday school.
Look at Jamaica's achievement to date:
3rd most murderous on the planet earth 49/100,000. .
2nd poorest in the Caribbean with a per capita GDP of appr US$6000 down from $7900 in 2024Haiti is #1 at US$2200 up from $1700 in 2024
The 4th most illiterate in the Caribbean at 88%.Females are at 93% while males lag behind at 83%.
Those who have been running Jamaica from Independence have failed miserably and be reminded that being a Republic is not style and fashion but a serious decision that may have serious long term deleterious consequences in an increasing multipolar world.
Take for example if Jamaica became a BOT our natural market increases to 73 million.
If America buys Jamaica our market increases to 343 million all travel restrictions dissappear the slave descendants have nothing to lose having little or nothing already. Anything is Anything.
    Bark di Trute nuh.

  2. Some good points on both sides but not sure Currie gave a specific reason why his "governing body" decided against accepting the help of the JDF... I prefer when we stick to the facts/ "bark di truth"

    1. I would like to know which law prevents the security forces from entering certain areas of the country. A treaty with the United Kingdom cannot bind the new state of Jamaica. It is a dangerous situation. What would the security forces do if a convicted murder goes to Accompong to hide? The security forces would have to get permission from Chief Currie to enter Accompong to capture the convict?

    2. You want to know which law prevents the security forces from entering Maroon Land? Now, that thought is very dangerous. Not because Jamaica doesn't operate like a country, doesn't mean the Maroons shouldn't run their affairs as it should. Legally, by virtue of being self-governed, all foreign troops cannot enter, or state representatives enter wihout an invitation. It's commin sense, but I realizeva lot of Jamaicans struggle to comprehend basic things. If criminals go up there to hide, you request that the Maroons turn such persons over, once you have proven they are criminals.

  3. I would vote for Currie over Andrew any day.

  4. The Maroons have seen the poor performance of the leadership of Jamaica since Indepenence. I agree with all the points in the response above defending the Maroons. Left to its own decisions, jamaican Hovernment bauxite mining and degradation of the Cockpit Country may have occurred. The Maroons are not only defending territory they are protecting a rich culture, and representation of black pride for the entire world. In addition, they have also been instrumental in the liberation of Haiti? Improvement in Nova Scotia, Canada and returning people like themselves to Africa. If we were really taught our history we would be more proud of their achievements not only in Jamaica but across the Caribbean

Pity my fellow Jamaicans that we do not teach their history in schools and end up listening to those that cherry pick info to sell their own mischief.

  5. People need to stop overlooking what being a sovereign nation really means. Jamaica as a nation could learn a lot from the Maroons. The Maroons need to sit and charter their way forward. The PM has no power over Maroon jurisdiction, or the lands given to them by the British. Their were granted Autonomy, and they should retrieve such power where breached. People say the Maroons have MPs, councillors, etc. That would be illegal. Speculation or hearsay? Self-governed doesn't mean you have everything for yourself. Look at Jamaica, what does it own? Practically nothing. It means you choose how the territory is governed, upholding key rights as a nation like making your own laws, having an army or security forces, etc. People talking about airport? Gosh, this situation is really exposing airhead.

    1. It is a good thing you did not say I am a criminal. This blog is for thinking people who want to discuss issues. This is not like other social media pages where people go to ray ray and trace off one another.
