Please Note The Following:
- Do not send information such as your passwords or PIN via WhatsApp. There is a bug in WhatsApp that allows your WhatsApp account to be linked to another person's account, and the linked account will get all your messages. I have had personal experience of very personal information coming to my account from another number. I contacted the person who owned the cell phone, and he nearly had a heart attack.
- Do not click on links that you do not expect. Do not give any numbers that people ask you for, which are displayed on your phone when you click a link.
- If you do not have antivirus software installed on your computer, then do not go to pornographic sites or sites that you are not aware of.
- Do not do a Google search for your bank account site, for example, and then you are required to put in your full username and password. You could be giving your banking information to a site that mimics your bank's site.
- Install antivirus software on your computer and your phone. You will need to pay an annual fee to install the programme.
- Do not lend your cell to anyone. Not even your spouse or your parents. Let them get their own or buy one for them.
- Make sure there is a password on your phone and also on your WhatsApp account.
- Do not give your credit or debit card to anyone.
- Do not allow persons to stand close to you at the supermarket cashier. They have machines that can read your credit or debit card information and grab it from your card. They can even photograph your credit card number using miniature cameras.
- Do not engage in conversation with any stranger in a secluded area. Look out for those who say they are preaching the word of the Lord. I understand that they have chemicals that they can spray into your face. The spray will knock you out, and then they will relieve you of your possessions.
- Only carry your vehicles to reputable garages to be fixed. Those who purchase a second-hand car have to be careful. The garage attendants can attach a tracker very discreetly and then track your car and steal it.
- When there is a shootout, as happened in Mandeville Square recently, do not panic and start running all over the place. You cannot outrun a bullet. Take cover and stay low. Can you imagine the officer seeing you running and mistaking you for the criminal? The criminals should be the only ones running, with the police running after them.
- Stay far from a JPSCo pole that seems as if it will fall.
