Argentina visibly has no Afro-Argentinian player on their teams, a result of an embedded program of "Racial Erasure". With a history of "racial erasure," a great effort has been made to erase persons of African origin.
In the Argentinian population of about 46 million, less than 1%, about 305,000, self-identify as being of African origin.
In the 20th century, more than 6 million Europeans entered Argentina, and disease killed more Black people, and the slave population was never as high as in Brazil, the USA, or the Caribbean.
That accounts for no person of African origin on the football team. Is Argentina a racist society is the big question that must be answered.
Argentina is not inherently a racist society, but it makes every effort to promote a white European racist identity.
Is Argentina a racist society? You decide.

Editor's Note
I wonder how many Jamaicans support Argentina.

Argentina made specific, concerted and coordinated attempts and took spwcific actions to decimate, replace and eliminate the Africans living there. Argentina was the only country voting with arch white supremacists in the United States and zionists in Israel against the UN declaration of western hemispheric slavery as a crime against humanity. Argentina's world cup fans used racist tropes to deride an African American social media personality in this ongoing series. Simply because a local newpaper owned by a white supremacistbfriend and supporter of donald tRump interviewed one deluded African in Argentina who was willing to go on record as saying she did not experience racial bias and harassment does not make Argentina non-racist. They are definitely not antiracists either!
ReplyDeleteMost countries on the world cup are racist. Who cares if they are racist. Let's enjoy the games as we usually do. I am a supporter of team Argentina from I was in high school, and I will not change now. Talent is talent so let's enjoy the matches and put this "who is racist from who is not" aside. Argentina mi sey... win lose or draw!
ReplyDeleteRacism is not sumply anti-African prejudice. It is a system and systemic and it benefits one race to the exclusion and detriment of others on a planet with finite resources. So please, define racism scientifically for these people who never saw a white person they could not love or a fellow African they would not hold in contempt, before you ask them what I assume is a rhetorical question?
