If Jamaica were to be put up for sale, what would be a fair price? There are reports of an alleged purchase offer for Canada to become the 51st state of the USA that was refused.
One can only hope Jamaica does not refuse a deal of similar scale. The 1 million+ squatters would likely be pleased. Considering that in 1838 the entire squatting population was 450,000.
Is this what Emancipation 1838 and Independence 1962 were about? We now need Strategic Solutions Services (SSS) to negotiate the best possible deal.
The proposal:
Every citizen with a TRN should receive the equivalent of Per Capita GDP, but not less than US$8,000.No visa required would be a hit.
Open negotiations at US$10,000 per person x 2,800,000 = US$28–30 billion.
Potential buyers welcomed could include China, Russia, the USA, France, Italy, Canada, Germany, the UK, India, the European Union, Africa, et al.
Market access benefits:
- USA purchase: immediate unfettered access to an estimated 345 million people
- China: 1.4 billion
- Russia: 110 million
- Germany: 84 million
- France: 68 million
- Italy: 59 million
- Spain: 49 million
- Poland: 37 million
- Africa: 1.6 billion
- Canada: 40 million
Any one of these markets to which we gain unfettered access would make Jamaica more prosperous. In an increasingly multipolar world market. This would give new, prosperous, and objective meaning to emancipation and independence.
Not just meaningless impoverishment, song, dance, empty speeches, and expensive festivities.
Canada missed an opportunity they may live to regret.
Hope that if Jamaica is faced with that opportunity, it doesn't refuse. Jamaica has nothing to lose.
Editors Note
Some will say that we are sold already.
