| Colleen Slemmer was tortured and brutally killed in the 1995 murder |
Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike has been taken to the hospital after an attempt to execute her yesterday by two lethal injections failed.
Pike was sentenced to death in 1996 for the murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. Her execution was the subject of a last-minute legal battle.
This culminated in the US Supreme Court allowing the lethal injections to go ahead.
Pike was 18 when she and her then-boyfriend, Tadaryl Shipp, beat, tortured and killed 19-year-old Slemmer, whom they had met at a job training camp for troubled teens.

Christa Pike is the woman who missed death row a few times. The latest report is that the lethal injection did not work. She is now critically ill. I have heard that execution by the electric chair and hanging has failed in the past. Now we are hearing that lethal injection has failed.
There is a possibility that her lawyers may ask that her death sentence be commuted to life.
Some might conclude that Christa Pike is experiencing torture, which she and her boyfriend had put her victim through.

That should be commuted as that now seems like torture by the state cruel and inhumane treatment.
ReplyDeletePity that the victim cannot get back her life. The victim was tortured before she was brutally murdered.
