| King Charles with Bahamian Prime Minister Edward Davis |
King Charles III has begun his tour of the Caribbean by acknowledging the "great suffering of the past" as he faced calls for slavery reparations, the BBC reports. The visits were planned for the Bahamas, Guyana, and Antigua and Barbuda
Speaking at an event in the Bahamas, the King said the country's culture was "born out of darkness" and that it was "only right" to acknowledge historic injustices.
King Charles's nine-day tour will culminate in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), where the King has confirmed leaders will discuss the region's legacy of slavery.
The King will not depart from the policy of his government. Therefore, it is not expected that he will offer an apology for slavery nor offer any form of reparation.
The BBC reports online that Buckingham Palace said opportunities for the King to reflect on the legacy of the slave trade will be built into the schedule of his nine-day tour of three Caribbean countries, with visits planned to memorials and other places of reflection and remembrance.

This pathetic pedophile protector is not my king. He does not know that his family enriched themselves by trading in slaves? Seriously? He is unaware of how europeans violently violate the rights of Afrikan and Indigenous peoples around the world? He does not read the papers or watch the BBC? He is unaware of the social, psychological and econommic damage he and his ilk cause by imposing their gutter religion on Afrikan and Indigenous peoples? If he comes here he should be draggef through the streets by the scruff of his scrawny pencil neck. Instead he will be feted and treated like a king instead of the war criminal he and his racist family are. Shame. Shame. Shame!!!!
