That Long Standing Feud Between The United States and Cuba

By Michael Spence

Michael Spence

Florida has now signed an arrest warrant for 95-year-old Raul Castro in Cuba. It has been 67 years since Fulgencio Batista fled on Jan. 1, 1959, and Fidel and Raúl took power from American-backed rule.

Donald Trump—born in 1946, now 80 years old. He was 13 when the Revolution triumphed in 1959. The Revolution started in 1953 when he was just 6 years old is amazing.

Is this justice or a vendetta?

The warrant, signed Friday, October 16, by Judge Ariana Fajardo Orshan, charges Raul with conspiracy to commit murder for the 1996 Brothers to the Rescue shootdown 30 years ago.

America has 340 million people; Cuba has 11 million. Is America considering Cuba becoming the 51st state or another overseas territory like Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, or the Northern Mariana Islands?

Cuba has 100% functional literacy and strong indigenous science and math. America struggles at 79% literacy, with only about half reading above a 6th-grade level, and has weak indigenous science.

Jamaica stands at 88% literacy, but our men lag at 83% while women exceed 93%. Would Jamaicans mind being taken by the USA? Would you?

Arresting a 95-year-old man 30 years later? Jamaicans call that "carry feelings" — old grudge from a revolution that chased out American dominance more than half a century ago.

Give it up, America. Let the Cuban people live free and prosperous.

The more I think, I am almost sure Trump will try to invade and take back Cuba to be seen as a true American hero.

Will Russia and China allow it? Will Jamaica assist America? Will Cuba resist existentially like Iran, or will it be another Venezuela—one-night stand?

Look out from 90 miles away. An America-Cuba invasion is on the cards.
