What's Happening

Twins on Bike Crashed in Van

The reports continue to come in of crimes and road accidents. These continue to impact the health sector negatively. For example, I understand that there are no available beds in the Intensive Care Unit at the Hargreaves Memorial Hospital.

In the brief video below, a biker and his pillion rider collided with another car. Unofficial information is that this occurred on the Ramble main road in Hanover. The information is that the two are twins, and they are now in the hospital fighting for their lives.

The police officers have a very tough job to do. I noticed that it is mainly the women who are taking on the police. These women could have been pleasant to the officers. They captured the scene on camera, so all they had to do was to contact INDECOM or the officer in charge of the area to get further information on locating their relative. Note how some of the officers were cool.

The Nurses and Their Blackout

Black book: bad book, black magic: evil, blackmail: illegal, blackout: terrible, blacklist: bad list to be on, blackheart man: dangerous individual, blackhead: not a good thing to have, and to top it off you have BLACK PEOPLE!!!

So why do we fly black flags when someone is murdered, and why are the medical ladies wearing black to protest salary issues? I guess they are hoping to get their challenges sorted out so they can go back to wearing white again.

Remember, if you white yu alright, if you brown yu can stick aroun' but if you black yu tan a back.

It's a good thing they changed what the black in our national flag means.

Thanks

Superintendent Hopeton Nicholson

Thanks to Superintendent Hopeton Nicholson, who used the WhatApps Emergency Alert system to advise us that the Bog Walk Gorge was closed and also told us when it was opened to vehicular traffic. The media advised motorists and it saved many of us some gas.

Thanks very much, Sir for working with citizens. The police force joining with the citizens' force can conquer crime and indiscipline in the country.

The Mayor of Kingston

The Mayor of Kingston & Andrew, Andrew Swaby, addressed the KSAMC two-day workshop. This workshop was held at the UWI Regional Headquarters on February 6 to 7, 2025, in Mona. The theme was "Collaboration in Action'.

Jamaica Should Recognize The Leaders of the Motherland - Africa

Sam Nujoma

The founding father of Namibia has died. Dr. Sam Nujoma is the last of the African leaders who took their country out of colonial and minority white rule. They are South Africa's Nelson Mandela, Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, Zambia’s Kenneth Kaunda, Tanzania’s Julius Nyerere, and Mozambique’s Samora Machel.

I am not aware of his death being mentioned in local media nor any of our political leaders and heads of the various organizations mentioning the death of this outstanding African leader. We have spent significant time discussing the United States of America and Donald Trump. We have indeed forgotten our brothers in the motherland.

Please let me know if any organization as made any public statement about the death of this great African leader.

Click on the icon below to listen to the statement about the death of Sam Nujoma, from Professor Earl Taylor, who is Jamaica's Honourary Council in Namibia.

I welcome your comments to this blog.

Labourites Getting Ready to Choose - Miller or McKulsky?

McKulsky and Miller

Omar Miller or Hidran McKulsky will represent the Jamaica Labour Party in North East Manchester. Hidran McKulsky has organized his troops to get the nod of the JLP. Previously many felt it was just a handover from Audley Shaw to Omar Miller.

I understand that Audley Shaw had endorsed Omar Miller, but the McKulsky team would have none of that. So it is now the Craighead Councillor versus the Holmwood Technical High School Principal.

The JLP might have to have an indicative poll for that constituency to see which candidate the people would prefer. The contest could energize the party faithful in that constituency.

In the meantime, the PNP is looking on. Depending on who the JLP chooses, their campaign strategy could change!

Which candidate would be better for the JLP, and why?

MP Questions PNP President's Silence on PNP/KSAMC Scandal

Press Release From The Jamaica Labour Party - 20250209

MP Demands Answers From Mayor Swaby & says PNP President's Silence on Scandal is Unacceptable

West Rural St. Andrew Member of Parliament, the Jamaica Labour Party's Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn, says President Mark Golding's silence on the PNP/KSAMC Corruption Scandal is unacceptable.

Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn says Golding must tell the country whether he intends to sanction his General Secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, who media reports have confirmed in response to an enquiry about the KSAMC's distribution of money to PNP operatives said it was being done strategically ahead of the calling of by-elections.

Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn says the PNP President cannot escape telling Jamaica whether he intends to hold his General Secretary to account for the disturbing comment which was made in a leaked conversation in which he was conversing in December last year with then PNP Caretaker, Lawrence Rowe.

Mrs. Cuthert-Flynn says:

"The PNP President must tell Jamaica whether he was aware of this scheme which the Rowe/Campbell conversation appeared to clearly reference. A scheme where monies from the KSAMC were being distributed to PNP operatives, including unelected caretakers. Mark Golding's silence on this very seriously matter is unacceptable. He must indicate whether he has demanded answers from his General secretary, who was heard responding in his own voice to an enquiry about KSAMC money being used to assist PNP operatives. Golding must say whether he intends to hold Dr. Campbell accountable for the despicable manner in which he responded to Rowe."

Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn says the PNP's lack of direct response to questions raised in the public domain about the scandal confirms that the Mark Golding-led party is operating with a high level of arrogance and contempt for the people of Jamaica.

Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn says KSAMC Chairman, Andrew Swaby, has questions to answer about the multi-million dollar PNP KSAMC/Corruption scandal.

"Specifically,  Mayor Swaby must tell Jamaica whether he is aware of monthly cheque disbursements amounting to millions of dollars which the KSAMC has reportedly been making to a well known PNP operative in West Rural St. Andrew. The Mayor must state why are these cheques being disbursed and for what work done and did he authorise the arrangement? If Mayor Swaby cannot within 24 hours provide a credible explanation for the reported arrangement he must step aside."

Mrs. Cuthbert-Flynn is urging the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) to leave no stone unturned as it interrogates issues which have arisen in the KSAMC/PNP Corruption Scandal.
