Fi Wi Concerns 20160401 - Michael Spence
Two men were killed by angry residents in Bensonton, Claremont, and St Ann on Thursday afternoon as they attempted to leave the community with a goat, which was allegedly stolen. Now they will leave people things alone "operation tidal wave" by citizens.
It is sad though that people allow themselves to lose their lives to the embarrassment of their families. The lesson is if we have thieving members of our families instead of cheering them on ,persuade them to do otherwise and if that does not work turn them in to the police could save their lives and it is cheaper to take food to them in jail than to finance funerals.
Its only a pity that they were not captured and taken to the police because this kind of mob killings cannot be encouraged as it could backfire on innocent people mistaken for thieves as this has happened on a few occasions in this country because in many communities all you have to do is bawl out “teef, teef” and the whole community coming with whatever implements they find.
As a matter of fact the last two persons brothers found guilty of murder and hung in Jamaica were as a result of a mob Killing of a man called “Busta” in the Bethel Town police division in Westmoreland. Stanford Dinnal and Nathan Foster - took place years ago on February 18, 1988 at the St Catherine District Prison their mother was also charged but was acquitted.Busta was however a honest man not a thief but could fight well maybe could beat a Mike Tyson in his time so they mobbed him. 01/04/16
