I have been getting reports from my On The Ground Reporters across the island:
Areas such as Elletson Flats, Cooreville Gardens in Kingston, Albert Town in Trelawny the residents are reporting that the tremor was very strong. The Accountant General Department building in downtown rocked from side to side some persons reported and staff members had to run outside of the buildings. Reports are that the tremor was very strong in areas such as St. Bess in St. Elizabeth. It was also very strong in Falmouth and Seafield in St. Catherine also. Based on the reports we have been getting it seems that the tremor was felt across the island.
It is interesting to note that many persons didn't feel the earthquake while some felt only a slight tremor.. One person in Jackson Town, Trelawny said they didn't feel it al all. Some persons who were driving have reported that they did not feel the quake. From Mandeville a resident reported that the tremor was significant in Mandeville.
Singer Freddie McGregor in Kingston, said he felt it and it lasted for avery long.
Reports are that many persons ran out of their officers in Kingston and some persons are now heading home. One of my On the Ground Reporters said that when he looked at the car park at work it seemed as if all the cars were dancing. Persons in the VMBS building in Kingston reported that the builded kept on swaying.
In Montego Bay persons said the tremor was very strong and the area shook for a very a long time.
