Violet Edwards' First Media Exposure About Achievement - SpotOn on Riddim FM!

I must express my appreciation to all of my supporters, who have given me strong support and have assisted me in producing blogs for this site daily. These blogs along with my radio programme have been very effective in bringing a number of matters to public attention and getting action taken.  Recently this blog was used effectively to rally the people in calling for the government not to cancel the Festival Song 2022, competition.

In February 2022, I had the honour to work with a BBC consumer show in the UK, to resolve a consumer issue which was another big achievement. 

I am proud of another achievement which resulted from a blog that I published recently. My blog 'Bark Di Trute' and my radio programme SpotOn on Riddim FM were the first to publicly announce the achievement of a 96 year old woman, Violet Edwards, who received her associate degree with a 4.0 grade average. The news is just now being carried in the the media in the United States. It was carried on CNN tonight.

Her friends and relatives will be donating a scholarship to a needy  UWI student who probably dropped out of school and was unable to compete his/her education. The scholarship is valued at JAD1.2 million dollars.

Note: 

Mrs. Violet Edwards might have made history in Jamaica for being the oldest Jamaican to get at associate degree. My checks reveal that she should be in the top 5 oldest persons to have received an associate degree in the world.

Mrs. Edwards was slated to be the Grand Marshall at a Caribbean parade in Florida today but due to inclement weather the parade had to be put off.
