International Artiste Beenie Man |
Riddim FM is blowing like a category 5 hurricane across Jamaica and the world these days. Major upgrades have been done to the station's system and the station is now sounding crisp and crystal clear across the landscape. This week we heard from listeners in Guyana who said that they were locked to Riddim FM.
Over the past few months, hosts have been having some high profile guests and also citizens across the island have been sending in their voices mails to air their views on the station.
The station is not only attracting persons from all walks of life, but also some high profile and international stars. On Friday, September 30, host of Real Rock, Ramona Samuels the petite lady with the sensuous and raspy voice, lured Beenie Man to the studios of Riddim FM.
It was a journey of love for the King of Dancehall, who it took over one hour to maneuver through the heavy traffic from Old Hope Road to Riddim FM on Cargill Avenue. Listeners excitement peaked as they wondered if the King of Dancehall would make it. Time was running out and the show Real Rock was coming to an end. A last minute call was made to have the showtime extended. The King did not disappoint.
Beenie Man was met by Vernon Derby, the host of SpotOn. Both the Dancehall King and Vernon have worked together in the entertainment business on the Tastee Talent Show, which at that time was produced by media consultant and business woman, Lois Grant.
It was a wonderful day for Riddim FM, and the bubbling, effervescent, and dynamic Riddim FM host, Ramona Samuels. Real Rock comes after SpotOn at 1:00 pm or 1300 EST.
