???
I posted a blog about a man who was murdered in Lionel Town. The headline said 'Breaking news'. The response of one reader was indicative of the position of many Jamaicans, including some of our leaders. See the response below:

I had deliberately put the headline Breaking News. I ended up getting a response that I expected. A reader responded to the same post and said thanks. He stated that he has relatives in Lionel Town. This reader was hearing the story for the first time via Bark Di Trute.
I have another breaking news - a man was murdered in a place named City in Trelawny yesterday. Also, two children and an adult were killed in Salt Spring in Montego Bay.
The nation is indeed getting very cold to the daily murders. Murdering someone is no big thing. The killing makes a personal impact when someone close to us is murdered. That unemotional thinking is reflected in the types of murders taking place in the country. We are now in a bottomless pit in terms of the values and attitudes of the nation. Who will take charge and lead the change? We demonstrated against the senseless killings taking place in Israel and Gaza, but I don't recall us having any such demonstration about the killings taking place in Jamaica.
Let's be careful because you or I could be NEXT.
Editors note:
Breaking news is a report which is unfolding. I use the term when the story is a developing one, and I just got the information. Bark Di Trute could be the first with this developing story. The loss of even one human life is a serious matter - I treat it as such.
The killing is horizontal. Things will only change if, or indeed when, it becomes truly vertical.

ReplyDeleteI am not going to have any more gray hairs about what is happening not only in Jamaica but the entire world. 10,000 is dead in Gaza and that is the holy land, but if we read our Bible we will see that it's end times and fulfillment is a must.
ReplyDeleteSeems like some people are really happy when others dead, so them can have easy access to whatever they want, when they want to. Seems like the authorities are happy when gang's kill off each other. So it is o.k almost every communities sitting on a pile of guns and ammunition to be unleash on each other and them no business if the innocent get killed and up to now. We are not seeing any surprised by the Army searching from community to communities to get the guns out of wrong hands. So this like a tape recorder. We need back plain clothes officer's on 24 duties, 3 shifts as usual and use the use soldiers as quick responder. Get the drones up and take over skies with technology. Use up what we have. We can do it. No tip off. To stop a killing worse if it is a innocent person or persons. No say, something is totally wrong. Our securities need to watch the documentaries, where these gunmen a tell some of the TV nett work. How they carry out their evil deeds. These human rights are going sink Jamaica, seems like a dem a give the orders on who should die and who lives. Who is really in charge 🤔?
