Barking The Trute to Flow?


 

A customer's concern about the FLOW advertisement:

"Hello Vernon,

I recently signed up  for the Yaad and Road bundle promotional offer that was being advertised in branch on flyers in November.  Along with the offer,  customers to receive an A14 phone and 2 earbuds. 

I visited the Flow office in Half Way Tree Clock Tower (Retail Sales) and enquired about this promotion. 

The Agent informed me that if I am a new customer, I could sign up for the service and I would get the idevices-   A14 Samsung and earbuds. I was never told that I would have to sign up online only to receive these devices.

However, I went ahead, paid the money and the service was installed.

On Monday, I went to the office in Spanish Town Shopping Mall and was asked by the Rep if the contract was explained. I told her not that I am aware of, so  she explained it and I read and signed contract.

Following that, the Rep also wrote up the phone and earbuds and gave it to the cashier. At that point, I still did not see the device until I went to the  cashier. 

At that time, I noticed the phone was different, so I asked why? He said the persons who went in branch to sign up would receive an A4oe , while the online sign up receive the A14 Samgsung. I was never told about that by any agent.

I contacted customer service and was told that the information shared was not changed on website. There was no indication where you signed up in branch or online. The promotion was the same

No option was given.  However, the customer service agent online Kimberly apologized for the misleading information and suggested I return to the branch, and speak with a  Supervisor and ask them to change the device, as I was not aware of the different options.

 I went to the branch in Spanish on Tuesday but the system was down and I could not speak to anyone. 

Hence, I contacted customer service again, and spoke to Will Jackson who told me to go to the branch in Half WayTree and speak with a Supervisor about the matter.

I spoke with a Supervisor (unfortunately I did not get his name). He lied and said the promotional flyers in the retail office had not changed from October. I went there in November, so that was a LIE. 

He also said they cannot do anything and will have to wait until the 1 year is up to change the device. 

Mr Derby, please do something about this misleading advertisement. These big companies are always chafting the small people and getting away. 

Help me get justice on this matter." 

The customer plans to take the matter to the Consumer Affairs Commission and the Fair Trading Corporation.

  3. This is why I don't listen to or entertain any of these promotions. Always toooo much fine print, confusion and the head don't know what the tail doing. No two CSR ever have the same info. Pure frustration!

  5. She should demand to speak with someone higher up. All of these type of organisations behave the same because they can. There is no accountability from government level, private sector, etc. They can do what they want, when they want and nothing will be done about it. God's grace go with that customer.

  7. Reporting a matter to this blog is the highest level one can take it. The moment something reaches this blog which I regard as a very serious matter, it is brought to the head of the relevant organizations, the relevant regulatory bodies, the media and the wider public. Matters are not just posted on this blog and left like that. They are dealt with. It would be great if people add comments to these blogs when the matters have been resolved.
