Officer Drowns
DSP Delroy Johnson |
I just got information from one of my On The Ground Reporters that Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Delroy Johnson is suspected to have drowned in a river at Hidden Beauty in Thatch Hill, St Ann on Sunday, January 28, 2024.
NWC BROKEN MAIN AGAIN?
Decent Habour View Citizens Need Peace of Mind
Residents in Harbour View heard a barrage of gunshots in the hills overlooking Harbour View on Sunday, January 29, 2024. There was also a dance opposite St. Benedict Church at The Pool. Due to a lack of parking space, the patrons at The Pool used their cars to block the residents' entrances to their homes.
The relevant authorities should ensure that the party applying for permission to put on the event provides adequate parking space and bathroom facilities.
Garbage receptacles should be available for patrons. There should be adequate security. The level of the music should be at the level stipulated by law and the entertainment event should conclude at the appropriate time.
Persons At The Political Level Distributing Benefits
The political temperature is getting hot. Note that there is nothing about political representatives distributing benefits to citizens. Persons who want to go on the overseas formwork programme for example usually check with their MPs to get a card I understand.
Rather than making political points on this one, our political aspirants should lobby to have it enshrined in law that no political leader should distribute state benefits. State benefits should be applied for and if certain criteria are met, then one gets those benefits. The civil servants are the ones who should deal with such matters. This is an operational matter.
Political Bad Tone
I heard a political song circulating where the singer declares his hate for the PM. We do not need those lyrics at this time. Make good fun of our political leader but let us not perpetuate hate among our people because of politics. That is one road we do not want to go on again.
Where Pedestrians Should Walk?
There is construction taking place opposite the Andrews Memorial Hospital in Kingston and the construction material is on the sidewalk. Citizens have to therefore walk on the road and compete with the traffic. Who is responsible for protecting the citizens? I would like to know because it seems there are no agencies to protect the rights to use the sidewalks. Persons are getting more money but are we getting improved service?
