As Election Date Approaches, This Councillor Spends Time Getting More Things Done!

Councillor Vernon McLeod, the Councillor for the Havendale Division, has a practical way of campaigning. He has stepped up the pressure to have several things dealt within his devision. We need more of this. Councillors have their work to do, and when they lead and work effectively, they do not need to have an MP to support them nor they do not need to lean on a political party.

Recently, he stepped up the pressure to have street lights fixed in his division. I gave him support in what he was doing. Thanks to JPS for dealing with the matter. Thanks to Councillor McLeod for his persistent fight and also for saying thanks for my support.

He has sent me a copy of another letter sent to the KSAMC's Town Clerk. See the letter below:

"Good afternoon KSAMC CEO Mr. Hill.

There are a number of VACANT LOTS in the community of Queensborough Gardens that are in dire need of cleaning, particularly as:

They are breeding ground for mosquitoes

Being used as disposal sites for all types of construction materials, tree limbs and garden cuttings

They are serving as "hideouts " for criminals

These Lots are on the following streets:

Moonlight Drive

Lower Tunbridge Drive

Dianna Place

Queensborough Drive

As a consequence I wish that you take urgent action in locating the owners of these vacant Lots with a view to compelling them to have the Lots cleaned., failing which, the KSAMC have these Lots cleaned and enter the appropriate Caveats against the properties.

You'll note that I have copied this email to members of the community.

Please let me hear from you soonest

Regards

Vernon McLeod

Councillor"

Other councillors are to ensure that the problems of empty lots, empty houses, dilapidated houses, illegally constructed buildings and the problem of stray animals are dealt with.

Ensure that your councillor gets more done and that he or she does not need to hang on to the coattail of the MP or the political party.

Keep in touch with me.
