Councillor Vernon McLeod who represents the Havendale Division sent the following email to JPS and the KSAMC:

Good evening Sirs.

The Street Lights on utility poles, shown in attached photos, have been out of order since November 2021, and although I have previously reported the matter, the issue remains the same.

Residents in the immediate vicinity, including the Salvation Army's School for the blind, have been severely inconvenienced as the area is very dark at nights.

Kindly therefore endeavor to have the lights urgently repaired.

He sent a second email on February 5, 2024

Good evening KSAMC,  CEO,  Mr Hill.

I have submitted these DEFECTIVE STREET LIGHTS to your Office as also to the JPSCO,  for repairs in November 2021 and, notwithstanding numerous follow-ups  ABSOLUTELY NO EFFORT has been made to have the matter addressed.

I even submitted my request in a number of KSAMC Road and Traffic Meetings. 

These DEFECTIVE LIGHTS are on Mannings Hill Road between  Roehampton Close and Border Ave.

I am again appealing to you to use your good office to get the JPSCO to repair these DEFECTIVELIGHTS, soonest.
