NEWS FLASH - Voters Having Challenges Using EOJ Online Query

The electoral office needs to make the query screen to ascertain if one is registered to vote user-friendly. The date of birth input area is confusing to several voters.

I am recommending to the Electoral Office of Jamaica that there should be three input areas for the date of birth. One for the year, one for the month and one for the day.

The Current Screen for Query 

Citizens are having challenges checking for their names on the voters' list. The date of birth input area needs to be simplified. If the voter does not put the '/' as part of the date, the system will not accept it. The system will not accept '9' for a month. One has to enter '09'.

I would like some answers. What will the output be if one enters a name and a birthdate shared by another person? Will the system retrieve the record if the name is not spelt correctly? Will it output names similar to the one entered?

The Recommended Screen for Query

With this new screen, the system should format the date fields in a format that can be processed by the system.

With the implementation of a National Identification System (NIDS), one should only need to enter the NIDS and one's birthday.
