Dis is How I See It!!!

New Commissioner of Police

The new Commissioner of Police is Dr Kevin Blake. Let's work with this new Commissioner and hope that he makes a dramatic difference. Kevin Blake did a few high jumps up the ranks of the police force while pursuing his academic goals.

Let's see how he copes when climate change hits him and the temperature reaches boiling point. Will he be just another Commissioner of Police passing through?

Only time will tell.

What Next for This Ex-Police

Former veteran police officer Steve McGregor has only taken a break. Keep your ears open. I understand that he could make a grand entrance in another area. Stay tuned.

He has made his name as one who knows how to deal with people on the ground, he knows how to speak the people's language and he is highly respected in Jamaica.

Clarendon

Changes are coming in Clarendon and one can never tell what can happen next in politics. Some new faces could turn up in Clarendon. Things are getting hot for Mr Robert Morgan in Clarendon.

Will he remain? Will the JLP turncoat be a turn turncoat?

Warmington

MP Warmington has many lives - Yu pick im up yu lick im dung im bounce right back, what a hard man fi dead! Will he retire from politics as indicated earlier or his constituentse will entice him to continue? Who will want to run against Warmington? Whatever Jamaica thinks of him, he is loved by his constituents.

He might be singing one day in the future, "Yu a go tired fi see mi face".

MPs at The Exit Door

There are several MPs at the exit door and it seems as if they have no intention to exit. I hope that none will have to be pushed through the door. Some will exit under certain conditions they have set. A posting overseas or passing on the baton to a relative are some of the demands I understand.

Things Looking Up for PNP

Things are looking up for the PNP and some members are on the fence looking in. Good comrades love progress so those who ccupy comfortable seats in the party could see some challenges.

If Mark loses the General Elections then there are quite a few lions who want to taste the political meat. The top seat could become very unstable.

Is Mark as cool as he seems? Some say that he can be very cool and deadly.

Those prospective PNP candidates and party members who are involved in court case are putting a dim light over the party.

The Local Government Elections

The elections have come and gone and the procedure was not like driving on one of the newly carpeted roads - it was a rocky road. Will there be some shake-up at the Electoral Office of Jamaica?. I hope that the current head of the EOJ has learnt that we have Municipal Elections and not Parish Council elections. I hope he learns that his job is not to be an analyst but to be a faithful servant of the people.

I hope that he has ensured that the voters' query portal on the EOJ website has been fixed. I hope that he has improved the communication system for the EOJ. He might not have time to do it now, since his time could be shorter than the shortest rope. The Chairman of the EOJ has been very quiet. His silence is deafening.

Can Prime Minister Holness Manage Another Leg?

Elections are just around the corner. The results of the Local Government Elections have jolted the Prime Minister. He was positive that he was making great strides and I am sure he felt with such Usain Bolt strides no one could have come near to him.

Well, he is a charmer and the girls dem love him. He talks the people's talk. He, like Golding, tends to go too far just to prove that he looks like and behaves like the followers.

His government has achieved quite a lot but the crime monster is giving him grey hairs. He will learn that the people spread palm leaves for Jesus Christ to walk on and later called for his crucifixion.

He will learn that the PNP voters are united even when they do not support a leader. JLP supporters feel that the party has neglected them and they notice that quite a significant number of PNP professionals seem to have too much influence over the party. Will the Labourites go out and vote during the next General Elections? Your guess is as good as mine.

We can only look for the trends of the Don Anderson Polls. Don't argue with Don because he knows what he is doing. He is no fool and he will certainly not jeopordize the integrity of his polls for a political party.

PM Holness must be careful of that media man who he probably thinks is a good luck charm. That media man could bring him tribulations and sorrows.

What do you think?

  4. We have a new commissioner....did he dogs and cats as a boy.....is he a Muslim....is he single ...apart from his very impressive qualifications we know nothing of him....this is too important a post for a few select persons to pick their man....the service commission operates like a secret society....public hearings through constitutiona reforms must be the way going forward

  5. It's very good to have a new Commissioner of Police. However; this was more like a sniper in the dark. I honestly did not have a clue about this one. This was more like a Pop up and then take over from where the other have left off. I pray and hope that he knows all the problems that are facing our Nation and put in the right measures to change the entire stratus cope and bring back Jamaica in allineament with our other Caribbean countries that have little or no murders.
