The Local Government Elections
JLP To Challenge KSAC
Word on the ground is that the JLP will seek a magisterial count for one of the seats on the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Council. The PNP I understand will also seek a magisterial count.
If the JLP selects the former mayor as the Deputy Mayor for the KSAMC then their fortunes will be doomed for a long time. There could be discontent if the former Mayor Williams is elected as Deputy Mayor. It is best for the former Deputy Mayor of the KSAC Winston Ennis, to be elected as Deputy Mayor of the KSAMC.
Challenges in Manchester
MP Rhoda Crawford is in trouble in Manchester. She could not match the cash some candidates were able to fund the parish council candidates. Person are implying that persons loaded with cash are now back to help the PNP. There has been criticism about her leadership style by some persons in her camp. Persons in her camp also complained about not getting enough money for the campaign. I have received some terrible voicemails purporting to be coming from some of her workers.
Clarendon
The word from Clarendon is that some of the labourites are unhappy with the leadership in the parish. One JLP turncourt winning in one division is an indication that the grass on the ground is changing from green to orange. MP Morgan is having some challenges and people are blaming him for the challenges..
Trelawny
Choppers are running things in the West and political leaders in the West have become the political football for these choppers. If you are not speaking to chopping matters you could be chopped. Dennis Meadows might have had a few flasks of Pretty Gyal so he was forced to speak to the reality of the choppers. The noise of support from choppers could be deafening and he has not departed, he is in the back room.
Westmoreland
Criminals are fighting for power in Westmoreland and it could be just a matter of time before they control the politicians in the area. The security forces need to take charge of Westmoreland and the people must reject the criminals there.
JLP
Only a few months are left for the General Elections. Reports are that the JLP has lost some of its key people on the ground because each time the JLP wins it abandons its hard workers.
Word on the ground is that many labourites are disgruntled with some of the old-time labourites and they feel it is time for some of them to retire.
Warmington had indicated that he would be retiring from politics so he might lead the way and hopefully, others who have become heavy for the parties should consider helping the party to get rid of some weight.
People on the ground have said that some JLP officials have become arrogant and they are giving the party a bad name. They have identified some who do not relate to people well and their comment is that these people are hanging on to the Prime Minister's coattail.
PNP
The PNP slogan is not 'Power' for nothing. They are hungry for power and it is that hunger which is uniting them to work with Mark Golding. If Mark Golding slips he will slide. Crawford and Hanna are waiting in the wings.
The question is, PNP base came out for the local government elections, will they come out for the general elections? The JLP could put in a big show next time!
Public Sector
The public sector is not pulling its weight. This will impact negatively on the fortunes of the JLP. Some are using the coming elections as a time to flex their muscles. The public sector has become a heavy burden for governments over the years. They need to improve their productivity and also their level of customer service. Citizens are disgruntled with the KSAC, the NWC, NWA and the public health system.
Conclusion
The political road ahead is not a carpet. The political temperature will be hot and expect rough seas. Many believe that the drought is on and showers of blessings will not ensure that the grass remains green. Many are saying, 'Time Come'. Others will contend that the years time come and they are gone. Will prosperity be short-lived?

ReplyDeleteThe hard reality for some of us is that the PNP is very united and a most serious political contending force that is well positioned to assume the next government of Jamaica after the next general election.
ReplyDeleteSo sad👹
ReplyDeleteIt's time Jamaica people wise up not because you born come see you family a vote for the JLP or the PNP party you have to stick with that party look for the MP that are working and representing the areas It's a damn disgrace when you travel on some of these roads It's like a riverbed I don't know why you people still vote for them if they are not working for you vote then out I comes from a place in St Thomas called Hagleys gap and if you see that road it is a disgrace and mark you this mp is doing his 4th term as the Mp when elections time that is the only time that they see him come around and offer them money to buy them vote.
