Building Previously Used as Clinic Left to Rot in Padmore

Health Centre in Padmore left to rot

This unutilized health centre in Padmore in St. Andrew is now an eyesore to the community. The clinic was used to look after the medical needs of young pregnant women. The community now consists of, mainly elderly persons.

June Satchell-Logan JP, a very active citizen in the area, suggested on my radio programme SpotOn With Vernon Derby, that the clinic should be reopened because it could meet the needs of the elderly in the community. Many elderly persons sometimes want their blood pressure checked. This building could be used to provide for the health needs of the elderly in the area.

The councillor for the area Rohan Hall should have the KSAMC clean tbe building and the ground so that the health ministry can use it. I am sure MP Cuthbert will lend her support.

If you know of other government entities not being utilized, please send the information by WhatsApp to 876 816-5261

I've not been feeling well for some time and many other times i would've gone to see a doctor IF there was one right around the corner. There is one in red hills square that MOST part of red hills uses for their healthcare needs, so that one clinic is always full. Also there is one on red hills road. Those 2 clinics are not convenient for us who are living all the way in coopers hill or padmore. There are alot of school children, babies, young adults and elderly. We need a clinic for ourselves. Babymothers and pregnant women need somewhere close enough to home where they can be comfortable, somewhere where they can go for pre-natal and post natal care. We need a place comfortable enough to do our HIV testing and immunization, mental health for someone like myself who needs it. When you are sick, the more closer you are to home, the more comfortable you feel.
