Parliamentary Delegation on Working Visit to Trinidad and Tobago

Ms Colleen Lowe - Clerk To the Houses of Parliament

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Most Honourable Juliet Holness is currently heading a four-person delegation from the Jamaican Parliament to Trinidad and Tobago. The delegation, which includes Clerk to the Houses, Ms. Colleen Lowe, will meet with officials from the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.

 

The delegation will examine the procedures, corporate governance structure, and the integration of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago’s use of information technology infrastructure in their parliamentary processes. Members of the delegation will also meet with their counterparts to discuss matters of mutual interest to both Parliaments and observe firsthand the operations of the Parliament in the twin-island republic.

 

Speaker Holness noted:

“The aim of the visit is to see how best the Parliament of Jamaica can deploy our human resources and implement technological advances to modernize our operations with a view to improving efficiency so that we can better serve the people of Jamaica.”

 

The delegation will return to Jamaica on June 29, 2024.

They need to go Trinidad to learn those procedures? I believe they're and many qualified persons in Jamaica, they could employ to devise and implement procedures that would answer their "concerns'!
