| The blood of Haiti will spread in the region. |
Blood continues to flow in Haiti, while we all sit and talk. The situation in Haiti will deteriorate further, and it could become a criminal headquarters for the underworld in the Caribbean. This could end up destabilising the Caribbean region and also having a major impact on North America and other countries. Haiti is on a highway of no return.
The underworld will become more powerful when it controls Haiti. A powerful Haiti controlled by the underworld could then destabilise any country in the region. Haiti's problem is not just Haiti's problem but the world's problem.
Haiti should be taken over by CARICOM with assistance from other countries. It has to become a dependent nation again until democracy becomes a way of life for the people, and there is law and order. Haitians cannot do it on their own. Those who talk about letting Haiti decide their own destiny have their own self-interest tied up with the chaos there.
The first step is to set up a state where there is law and order. Next, appoint a firm and no-nonsense leader. This leader should be appointed by CARICOM and he/she would be assisted by a National Council Appointed by CARICOM. Haiti needs a well-trained and armed people's militia that can take the fight to the gangs and protect the various communities. Haiti needs an armed people's militia of about 50,000 people. The aim of this militia would be to wipe out these criminals.
Haiti is a gold mine for the Caribbean people. 11 million inhabitants is a major asset. A strong Haiti will mean a safer and more stable Caribbean.
