PM Heads to G20 Leaders' Summit in South Africa

Press Release From Office of the Prime Minister, November 19. 2025

The Most Honourable, Dr Andrew Holness

Prime Minister Dr. the Most Honourable Andrew Holness will attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, from November 20 to 24, 2025.

During the Prime Minister’s absence, the Honourable Dr. Horace Chang, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, will oversee the Government.

Editor's Note

I have written to the protocol section of the OPM to clarify where the Dr. should be placed as a title when an individual has a national title. I have not received a response from that section. I noticed in this release, the Honourable is placed before Dr Horace Chang's name, but for the Prime Minister, the Dr. is placed before the Most Honourable.

I believe national titles should go before all other titles. Those who are in charge do not feel obliged to respond or clarify anything for low-level citizens like me! Amazing?

Another question is, will the Deputy PM oversee the government, or will he be in charge of the government and the country? Will he be able to exercise any power that the Prime Minister normally exercises?

I might be wrong. Please add a comment and let me know what you think.
