There are now two weather disturbances in the Atlantic ocean which could head in the direction of the Caribbean. Disturbance 1 is located at 10" 50' N 41° 37' W. This is closer to the Caribbean. Disturbance 2 is located at 11°47' N 26°51' W.
The following information was given by the National Hurricane Centre for Disturbance 1:
Central Tropical Atlantic: A broad area of showers and thunderstorms associated with a tropical wave is located about midway between the coast of West Africa and the Lesser Antilles.
Some gradual development of this wave is possible through mid-week while it moves quickly westward across the central tropical Atlantic. Upper-level winds are expected to become less conducive for development later in the week when the system approaches the Lesser Antilles.
There are two weather disturbances in the Atlantic. Let's hope that all they bring to Jamaica is rain. In the meantime, we must be prepared.
