Many Jamaicans do not realize that Jamaica is a criminal's paradise. Throwing gum on the street in Singapore can earn you a few lashes. Committing other crimes can result in lashing, public shaming, fines, imprisonment, and even the death penalty.
Muslim states and traditional Islamic jurisprudence punish crimes through a structured legal framework derived primarily from the Quran and the Sunna (the traditions of Prophet Muhammad)
Recently, in Iran, a popular performer, Parastoo Ahmadi, was ordered to get 75 lashes by the appeal court. Yes, 75 lashes. After those lashes, they will probably have to take her to the hospital, and she will be lucky if the morgue misses her. The punishment is for performing without wearing the hijab.
Just think of what our children wear to school, and if the school administrators speak to the students about their mode of dress, they will go for their gangster parents who will 'badup' the school administrators.
In Iran, they have the morality police. Should we have a morality police team in Jamaica?
Probably the leaders in these countries can tell us why some of these laws only apply to women.

Those societies are very cruel and oppressive to women.
ReplyDeleteThey are, but what you should look at is they have laws which have teeth and if you fail to comply the good Lord help you. People don’t take chances in those countries
