Rev. Prince Clemmings United With His Wife Faith Clemmings Again!

The news is great this Sunday morning. Retired pastor Rev. Prince Clemmings is now at home with his beautiful wife, Faith Cummings. His family has expressed thanks to members of the Bogue Hill community and all those who gave them support during these difficult hours.

The interesting part of the story is that his dogs never left him. They stayed with him for the whole night. Let's take care of our animals, especially our dogs.

The Story About The Speeding Donkey

A policeman faced a serious challenge catching up with a speeding donkey. The donkey was galloping down the road at about sixty kilometers per hour. The road was dotted with numerous potholes, where cars can only drive at a maximum speed of about five kilometers per hour.

The officer eventually caught up with this crazy donkey. The officer accosted the donkey's owner and threatened to give the owner a traffic ticket for speeding. The owner protested. He said, "I was not speeding officer, it was this stupid ass. I was looking around to see if he had seen another ass because he has a way of behaving like an ass when he sees one."

The officer decided to talk to the donkey instead. The owner was behaving like an ass he said to himself. The officer very courteously said to the donkey, "Do you have any dangerous weapons?

The donkey raised his back leg.

The officer continued, "Any other dangerous weapons?"

The donkey lifted his head, looked the officer in his eyes, and bared his teeth.

The officer stepped back from the donkey. The officer warned the owner of the donkey and said, "The next time I see you and your speeding donkey, I will give you both tickets."

The donkey owner then remarked, "Fi wha officer?"

To which the officer replied, "You an di donkey can go argue yu case in court."

The donkey owner did not find it funny, but the donkey did. He kept on braying all the way down the hill to his yard.

The next day, the farmer was coming down the hill again, probably faster than the speed at which he was travelling the day before, and he flew past the police jeep. He was shocked that the police did not chase him. He turned around and went back to where the officer was and said to the officer, "So why yu not chasing me an mi donkey tidey officer?"

The officer, now was very humble and in a barely audible voice said, "Di jeep drap eena a pothole and two tyre bus. Yu can gi me a ride to the bottom of the hill?"

The farmer and the donkey obliged and gave the officer a ride to the bottom of the hill. The officer has not been seen on the road since. Hopefully when the National Wutless Agency fixes the road and the cars start to speed again, he will be able to issue more tickets because it is a waste of time issuing tickets to donkeys when there are enough asses on the road.

If you believe this story, I will add you as a character in the next jackass story!

Jazz and Cabaret In The Gardens will be on Sunday, April 6, 2023, starting at 6:00 pm. It will be at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel Gardens in Kingston. It's the show to take the family to and for visitors to the island to attend.

It's an opportunity to see some of our best performers. Bark Di Trute is hoping that the corporate world will assist by sponsoring young people who are unable to see a show of this calibre, and also to sponsor outstanding workers to attend the show. It's a gesture that workers will appreciate.

Citizens Keeping Them On Their Toes

Reader Reports on Lakes Pen

These are garbage on the road on Lakes Pen. Trucks empty garbage on the main road and set fire to it. This is crazy. Why are we destroying ourselves? I have never seen the environment so dirty; it suggests we are in a serious predicament. We need a plan.

Thanks for the job you are doing.

Editor's Note

We need to have some 'Look Out Officers For Officers (LOOFO). These persons will hide out in the area with the cameras ready to take pictures of the offenders and make sure they get pictures of the drivers and the license for the vehicle. When the offenders are caught and convicted, they pay a fine of JMD1 million, and the LOOFO gets JMD500. The offender will also have to clean up the area.

The idea is that the LOOFO would end up paying him or herself for work done. The driver should also have his license suspended for two years.

I guarantee that this nastiness will stop immediately. It is time for our leaders to act decisively in parliament rather than engaging in tracing matches. You would get the people's support immediately.

Another Reader Writes About Duhaney Drive

There is a dangerous hole in the drain on Duhaney Drive in front of the Duhaney Park police station. As, the grills move, the hole gets larger, and a bus will soon fall into it.

Can’t believe the police sit in the station looking at it and do nothing, and another big hole at Pasal Avenue and Mais Avenue corner filled with garbage, police and garbage trucks pass by and they do nothing. Road needs repairs.

Dangerous holes!

Editor's Note

Whoever designed, made, and approved this contraption should be recognized as an enemy of the state. How long has this been like this? Who is the MP and the councillor? Is it the work of the NWA, the National Wutless Agency? Mr Sweet Mouth from NWA, do you have a sweet defense for this?

The government will pay dearly at the polls for the shabby public sector work. I have been told that politicians come and go, but public servants will be there forever!

Share this blog with as many people as possible.  Ask them to add their comments. It would be interesting to see if people care. If the people don't care, then the public servants and our political leaders will not take us seriously.

I got this picture from a supporter. Apparently, this constituent referred to the person who might represent the party as a pub. The politician retorted by calling the person a mongrel. I understand that a significant number of mongrels are in that constituency, so that politician goose cook.

Nexus Brings Their Beautiful Blend of Jamaican Voices To Jazz In The Gardens in April

Hugh Douse - Founder
Jamaica is blessed with beautiful rolling hillsides and the beautiful plains of Clarendon and St. Elizabeth. St. Elizabeth is known as the food basket of Jamaica. We cannot forget the beautiful beaches, like the seven miles of white sand beach in Negril. Jamaica is also known for having some of the world's most talented people in sports, academia, and the performing arts.

Today we look at a talented group of musicians and singers called Nexus. Officially called the Nexus Performing Arts Company.

The Nexus Performing Arts Company has made a significant impact on the national cultural landscape. Their harmony will take you to heaven and back. Their blend of voices doing reggae, gospel, and traditional Jamaican music will take you into our rich musical history and bring you back to our modern music. Their energetic movements and creativity will capture any audience; the audience will get caught up with the exhilarating,  magical and enticing performance.

Nexus Performing Arts Company was founded by Hugh Douse in 2001. They did their first season at the Little Theatre in 2002. With over twenty members strong, they have taken their unique blend of voices across the island and have started to do a bit of globe trotting as one of the nation's musical ambassadors.

Patrons to Jazz and Cabaret In The Gardens, well feast on the variety of music this talented group will bring to the musical feast on April 6, 2025. Music enthusiasts will be delighted with the feast of music that Nexus Performing Arts Company will bring to the Pegasus Hotel Gardens.

The company has received numerous accolades and awards from the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) and also gold awards at the World Choir Games in Austria. Jazz and Cabaret in The Gardens quarterly shows will be off to a great start for 2025.

Portmore Parish Discussions Punctuated with Hidden Agendas

The people must not get caught up in the political shenanigans that tend to obscure the discussions about Portmore becoming a parish. The people had a strong people organization in Portmore called the Portmore Combined Citizens Association. They were also a part of the Citizens' Initiative Organization (CIO), which I led as president. The CIO had citizen associations and neighbourhood watch groups from across the island. It was a time when citizen organizations were strong.

My memory is not failing me, and I remember clearly that the aim of having a municipality was to have Portmore representatives managing their affairs. If you have a municipality, then it follows that the municipality should be responsible for a parish. We have the untidy situation where councillors from Portmore now also attend the St. Catherine Municipality meetings.

It has taken too long to establish this parish, which was a people's initiative.  The real challenge is not about a new parish but where the boundaries will be. This could affect the political power. Comments made by MP Warmington in the past about these boundaries seemed to have infuriated people in the opposition party.

The idea of the people electing their mayor directly is a privilege that only residents of Portmore enjoy. Many of us had hoped that by this, the people would be able to elect all mayors directly, as well as our senators and our Prime Minister. Power is a hell of a thing.
