Bark Di Trute Set To Have 2,000,000 Views By The End of 2025

Bark Di Trute has 1.782 million views as of May 31, 2025. Help me make the 2 million by the end of December 2025. This means that I will have to have between 36,000 and 40,000 views or more each month. You can help me do it by sharing the blogs with your friends.

I have been pushing this blog night and day for the past three years, and many people have benefited. Jamaicans overseas tell me that they rely on Bark Di Trute for accurate information. Bark Di Trute has been first to break news sometimes in Jamaica, and also we broke one international news.

Through the lobby work of this blog, I have been able to assist hundreds of citizens. Organizations have benefitted from the feedback. One of the partnerships that I am very proud of is working with Everet Smith and the relatives of Violet Edwards to secure approximately JAD7 million worth of scholarships for Jamaican students. Violet Edwards is the oldest Jamaican to get a degree and one of the oldest in the world. She got her degree at the age of 96 and at 99 her brain is as sharp as a razor.

Bark Di Trute has been able to assist persons as far as Africa.

Bark Di Trute has been working with persons in theatre to promote their plays and also working with the producers of Jazz In The Gardens. Bark Di Trute wants to promote entertainment and entertainers who we can be proud of.

One of the great things we have been able to do is to bring unedited press releases from the government, political parties, and various organizations to the people.

Another great initiative is the setting up of an Emergency Alert System that agencies can get information to all media houses and media personalities immediately. The Fire Brigade Service, the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the Meteorological Service and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management. The  JCF can now send a text, audio, or video message to all media houses and other persons if there is a crime scene in Montego Bay for example. They can advise the media houses that the area is blocked off.

If there is an earthquake, the head of ODPEM, for example, can send out a message to be relayed to the public immediately if there is the possibility of a tsunami. Reporters, news editors, talk show hosts, and media presenters receive messages from Emergency Alert.

The one challenge we have with Bark the Trute is Funding. It is time consuming and costly to host this blog. There has been very little support from the public. Recently the host company decided to force persons to watch the advertisements on the site. This has annoyed many people. When a advertisement comes up requiring to look at it, allow it to stay on the screen for about 15 second and then click on the back button to go back to the blog site.

Thanks for your continued support and to those who kept in touch with me when I had some health issues. You will notice that I am putting out more blogs again, but the danger still looms overhead. Thanks for your prayers and support. I wish I could find a young person who would be willing to work and learn from me so that they can establish a blog. This would involve writing and editing the blogs, taking still pictures, creating graphics for the site. It also involve editing pictures and videos. I forgot that there is also the distribution of the blogs.

How can you help?

No Direct Threat on Dennis Chung's Life

Dennis Chung

I have been getting calls about Dennis Chung's life being threatened because of his appointment to head the Financial Investigation Division. I have also received credible information that there has been no direct threat made, but based on comments made on social media and in other places, Mr. Chung and his family should take nothing for granted. More than likely, the government will provide protection for Mr. Chung.

It is election time - the JLP is campaigning, and so is the PNP. One thing we should be happy about is that the people are peaceful. The cruel and wicked behaviour of Jamaicans in the 1980 elections is now history. We should never forget that it was reported that we murdered approximately 800 persons during the highly politically charged period at that time.

Those of us in the media, civil society, and elsewhere are creating a storm in a teacup. The government has the right to appoint boards supporting its policies, and for boards and commissions to appoint heads of organizations who are compatible with the policies of the ruling party. They have the Services Commission and others to guide the process. It should be clear that no elected government will put persons in sensitive government positions who do not subscribe to the policies of the government.

The opposition is seeking political power, and it is their right to criticize the government's policies and to convince the people that they will do a better job.

Any politician in the world who appoints people who will frustrate their work is committing political suicide. Our concerns should be whether or not governments appoint competent persons to leadership positions. If they appoint incompetent leaders, then we should get off our bottoms and vote them out.

The political campaign is on. Let the politicians campaign, and the rest of us continue to work and earn a living in these difficult times. Our concern should be the crime, the economic stability of Jamaica, and the ability of the state to give us equal opportunity to live, work, do business, and live a good life.

Should Opposition Leader Mark Golding Retain His British Citizenship?

I posted a blog and allowed readers to say whether they believe that Opposition Leader Mark Golding should retain his British citizenship. I present the results in this blog. Note that this is not a scientific poll and was only intended to get the opinions of my readers.

Opinions from the readers on Mark Golding retaining his British citizenship:

  1. He did not apply for it.
  2. He's a British citizen because his father is a British citizen, must be renounce his father and his family. He's domiciled here and has been for years, so let the man be. Too much hypocrisy in this country. How many of us maintain homes here and there, politicians, business people etc. The person's integrity is what counts.
  3. He can actually do whatever he wants, but he can't remain opposition leader if he wants to keep his British citizenship.
  4. Our desire is to be a repúblic. We do not want a white British man to lead us, especially as it is believed he is a decendant of slave owners.
  5. If he's to be a major player in our politics his single allegiance should be Jamaica.
  6. You can only serve one master (at a time)!
  7. He is a British citizen by descent not by choice. Change the Jamaican Constitution so there can be no Dual citizenship
  8. If dual citizenship is allow, I do not see this as a major problem. Many of our Jamaica only citizens are destroying Jamaica.
  9. If the country is part of the Commonwealth such as Canada 🇨🇦 he could. Is England a part of the Commonwealth? I don't think so.
  10. Why, he has proven that his loyalty is to Jamaica.
  11. Mark Golding is a commonwealth citizen so he has nothing to renounce
  12. In the past, others seeking to be in representational politics were asked to resind their citizenship in another country. Therefore, Mr. Golding should be required to do the same. If he refuses, then the choice offered to everyone having this experience should be opened to him...resign.
  13. If he wishes to be Prime Minister he must give up his British citizenship and if he wants to be seen as a credible person or politician at all he must stand by his earlier pronouncement on morality.
  14. Was he born in the UK or JA?. I was born in Jamaica and now live in the United States, does that mean that If I return to JA to live and keep my USA status I will have no say ….?
  15. He should relinquish that now...it cannot be that he his saying one think and doing another. He is FLIP FLOPPING...and we are not approving of his behavior.
  16. This red Hering as they say drowning man grab after straw that's what is happening to the JLP Mark should not because the JLP says so he is fully inline with the constitution and Mr Vaz should come clear because everyone knows that the detailed information he gave re Mark's passport application did not come from any one in the PNP what he did now makes Jamaicans more sceptic about their information in the hands of this government
  17. As prime Minister he should be 100% Jamaica
  18. If the constitution that a member of the commonwealth can sit or be a sitting member in our parliament...why should he not keep his citizenship..as long as he does not renew his British passport during that period...I am fine with it. The public today does not know the truth about Edward Seaga to this date.
  19. If it is against the law he should give it up
  20. He should relinquish the British citizenship NOW. He cannot continue to be flip flopping as if this thing is a joke. I am saddened by his behavior, taking Jamaicans for fools, those days are long gone.
  21. He is not breaching the constitution. Bobby, Mathew and Tom should give up theirs too. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. As the govt get a little insecuritt because of result from the ocal government election,, suddenly, Mark citizenship is a problem . What a thing!
  22. Allegiance must be to one country if you're representing in Parliament.
  23. He is a British Citizen because his father was British and Jamaican law doesn't require him to relinquish his British Citizenship in order to be in the Jamaican Parliament. He cannot change the fact that his father was British. He was born in Jamaica.
  24. Yes, it is a moral issue before it is a constitutional issue, leaders must lead by example.
  25. I dot want a british prime minster. We are lesving the monorchy.

If Crime Trends Down, The Stocks of The Politicians and the JCF Will Improve

Police Commissioner Kevin Blake

Commissioner Kevin Blake is a proud man leading the Jamaica Police Force. Crime is trending down this year, and specifically, murders are trending down. Dr. Chang, the Minister of National Security, the man who speaks in soft tones, is smiling from one ear to the other. The government says it has spent billions on security, which involves capital expenditure and expenditure on the men and women in the JCF. What impact will this have on the electorate?

Will the people give Peter Bunting another chance, or will they give the JLP a third term? One poll is predicting that if elections were called now, the JLP would win by a small number of seats. Another pollster said the trend saw the JLP heading downhill, and that is not normally reversed. Are we falling in love with the lover boy, Andrew, and abandoning our new heartthrob, Markie Golding?

The police commissioner is reporting that the murder figure so far for May is 43. This represents a 67% reduction over May last year and a break in the over-decade-old trend of very high numbers relative to other months.

For seven years, it is reported that police sports have been suspended due to work pressure. The commissioner has promised the men their sports day this year.

Mr. Commissioner, the force members need a break. PM, call out the army and call out some volunteers to support the police so we can ensure a crime-free day while the police take a break. They need the break. Oh...oh, that sounds like a state of emergency for a day.

Let's not believe all is well because crime is trending down. We will now have to employ more social workers who will give support and help in order to build functional families. Students, parents, and teachers need a national code of conduct. Breaches of the code by anyone should prompt swift and firm action.

Criminals must now pay for the trials and for their incarceration. If one takes a life, one should be willing to lose one's life. Sex offenders must be known. We cannot be more concerned about the safety of sex offenders than the safety of possible victims. We have suffered at the hands of criminals for too long. Time for the criminals to feel it.

The elections are around the corner. We are tired of the tracing matches going on among political leaders. We want to hear about a government that will create a society where criminals live in fear and decent citizens can walk and enjoy the moonlight or the sunshine.

Yes, we want to hear how the next government will help to create an orderly society. A society where we not only move the criminals out from among us but also move from our roads, those who drive weapons of mass destruction. We want a disciplined government to build a disciplined society. All those who are just looking for power, please talk to JPS and not to us!

It's time for you to stand up and be heard. Please add your comments about crime, and state your recommendations for dealing with this monster.
